What is Blu-Ray Duplication?

Put simply, Blu-Ray is the next generation of optical discs; the successor to DVD. Where DVDs typically store about 8GB of data, Blu-Ray discs can hold up to 50GB — a perfect vehicle for High Definition video.

Over the past few years, you may have heard or read about a battle of formats between Blu-Ray discs, and a similar format called HD DVD. HD DVD was supported primarily by Toshiba, while Blu-Ray was developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association: a consortium of consumer electronics vendors, computer hardware manufacturers, and Hollywood film studios. Long story short, Blu-Ray won out. In practical terms, there were not many differences between the formats — Blu-Ray simply had a wider base of support. Politics as usual.

We like to think of ourselves as platform-agnostic. Whichever way technology evolves, it's still just a means to convey your message, and that's what's important to us — helping you get your message across, no matter what the media.

Can we help you with your Blu-Ray Duplication project? Absolutely. And if you're unsure whether DVD or Blu-Ray is the better format for you, we can help you make an informed decision. Just give us a call at 800-874-9044.
